在砂岩浮雕养护时需要避免的五个方面：

    （1）不可直接用水冲洗,天然石材和天然木材一样，为一种会呼吸的多孔材料，因此很容易吸收水分或经由水溶解而侵入污染。石材若吸收过多的水分及污染，不可避免的会造成各种石材病变，如：崩裂、风化、脱落、浮起、吐黄、水斑、锈斑、白华、雾面等恼人问题。因此石材应避免用水冲洗或以过湿拖把洗石材表面。
